Update: I was contacted by the seller, who kindly offered a refund. I was thankful for the quick reply. Since my mom loves the angel, I have requested instead that a new lantern be sent instead. I hope that the new lantern will work, but considering the excellent customer service, I now recommend this.I bought this as a Christmas present for my elderly mother. I have a similar one in my garden and she always commented that she wanted one. The angel itself is lightweight but quite lovely, and she liked it very much. However, I believe that the lantern is defective. The on button is largely unresponsive. Sometimes when I move the lantern around it lights up, but as soon as I try to move the angel into the correct location, the light goes off. My mom says that the light never turns on. We keep the angel on a sunny patio, so lack of sunlight is not the issue. My mom has chosen to keep it to save me the hassle of a return, but I wish that there were some way just to replace the lamp element. If the light worked, I would give it 5 stars.
